Voniga Projects

film scores • commercial music • dance/performance scores

VONIGA combines a diversity of musical experiences and skills, along with technical savvy, to create film scores, dance scores, advertisement scores and Music to Live Your Life By. ™

VONIGA's work in film includes The Final Inch, a film by Irene Taylor Brodsky, that documents efforts made towards the eradication of polio. The Final Inch was nominated for a 2009 Academy Award in the Documentary Short category. Voniga scored the entire film.

VONIGA also worked with filmmaker Chel White on Magda, his third adaptation of a story by radio artist and writer Joe Frank. The score was composed by Courtney Von Drehle and recorded with Joe Janiga on percussion and other musicians from the Voniga talent pool. Magda received the Grand Jury Award for Best Animated Short Film from the 2005 Florida Film Festival, and the EMPA Work Life Award from the 2005 Ann Arbor Film Festival.

Commercially VONIGA covers a broad variety of styles within the demands of modern media. Our experience includes work in radio, television commercials, and sound design under the direction of our sound design artist and engineer, Drew Canulette.

Scores and soundscapes for live performance are an important part of our repertoire. VONIGA has created music for Ten Tiny Dances choreographers Margretta Hansen, Robyn Conroy and Anne Furfey. In addition we have worked with Artistic director Robin Lane of Do Jump and Pat Wong, head of the Reed College Dance Department.
